Security

Is your business PCI DSS compliant?  Whether your business does ten credit card transactions per hour or per year, your system is under constant threat of being breached from someone online who could be anywhere in the world.  Unfortunately, many merchants are unfamiliar with PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards) or simply operate under the false assumption that ‘it will not happen to me’ – until it does.

POS Systems that are PCI DSS Validated

Full Circle understands that PCI DSS compliance is a time consuming and often confusing part of doing business.  That’s exactly why we work with businesses just like yours to install or upgrade POS systems that are PCI DSS validated the day the system comes online.  We also educate our clients in best practices for compliance moving forward.

What is PCI DSS?

PCI DSS is the security rules established in 2006 by the PCI Security Standards Council, which proactively protects credit card holder information from fraud and theft.  The Council's five founding global payment brands – MasterCard Worldwide, Visa Inc., American Express, Discover Financial Services and JCB International – all incorporate PCI DSS as the technical requirements for their data security programs.

Do I really need PCI DSS for my business?

The real question is:  can you afford $10,000 to $100,000 in fines for one individual breach of your credit card system?  More transactions are made every day using credit and debit cards rather than cash, which increases the opportunity for someone to breach your system.  In addition to the financial implications, one breach can ruin your brand equity and goodwill with your customers and your standing with credit card vendors.  Simply put, when it comes to credit card security, vendors and customers have a zero tolerance policy for fraud.
